FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):

Bullying has become a huge issue in the United States and "according to the Children's Defense Fund, one child or teen in America commits suicide every five hours"(Bruce Kluger).
In addition to the suicides every five hours, it has also been reported that "for every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 attempts"(Bruce Kluger).
People that are victims of bullying are "two to nine times more likely to consider suicide than non victims"(Bruce Kluger), according to a recent study by Yale University.
Lady Gaga has "stealthily used her pop star prowess and signature otherness to get into the heads of youth" and tries to "send an uplifting message to kids, signifying that it's okay to feel different"(Bruce Kluger).

Bullying has taken on a life of its own and "is not the same issue it used to be"(Bruce Kluger).

A father of a 14 year old son who committed suicide last year due to being bullied relentlessly said "with social networking and computers and cellphones, it's become an around the clock problem.  It's now a health issue"(Bruce Kluger).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):
Bruce Kluger is a writer for the Huffington Post.  In this article, he speaks about the dangers and the effects of bullying on people, most of which result in a suicide.  Though his mentions of some people that have committed suicide are from New York, bullying is a world-wide epidemic, and can affect anyone, anywhere, at anytime.  With technologies such as Facebook and phones, bullying has reached an all time high, and although there are many organizations that were created to help stop bullying and to educate people on the dangerous side effects of bullying, it is still not enough to save everyone from it.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?
For Author: BRUCE KLUGER is a member of USA Today’s Board of Contributors and a Contributing Editor of Parenting magazine. Formerly an editor of Playboymagazine, he has been a recurring contributor to, among other publications, The New York TimesPsychology TodayTime Out New YorkAlternet.org andTime.com. His cultural and political satire—written with David Slavin—appears regularly in The Los Angeles Times and on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

This site is a news website which features columnists and various news sources.
Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

There is a bias in the sense that it is negative (but then again, when is there ever a positive side to bullying?)
References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author uses statistics from a study conducted by Yale University, and also uses information from the Children's Defense Fund.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I plan to use this source as a reference while looking for more sources
